Preparing for Adoption
Date: Six Sunday evenings, Spring 2010 (dates to be announced)

If you're seriously thinking about adopting, you owe it to a child to address thoroughly your concerns - before you start the process. In the company of other couples and singles who are exploring adopting, and under the guidance of an independent educator who has no financial interest in your decisions, you'll delve deeply into all those difficult questions about the complexities of adopting.
By the end of this intensive adoption workshop, you'll understand:
Whether or not you are ready to adopt
The nuts and bolts of the adoption process
Which type of adoption is most suitable for your priorities
How to choose the agency, attorney, or facilitator who can best meet your needs
The joys and challenges of adoptive parenting
Special issues such as attachment and open adoption
This intensive pre-adoption support group is sponsored by Open Path (formerly Resolve of Northern California), and led by Sara Lively, M.S.Ed., founder of Adoption Paths. Groups are offered twice a year, in the fall and spring.
For more information, directions and to register, email us, or call 831-476-7252. If you live outside of Northern California, you can benefit by a telephone consultation with Sara.
