|
Date: Mon., June 23, 2008 Time: 7:30-8:30 p.m. Pacific time Fee: $25 From the privacy of your home or office phone or wherever you may be, listen in to learn about the importance of pre-adoption planning. This teleclass is hosted by Sara Lively, M.S.Education, an independent adoption consultant and trainer who has no financial interest in your choices. This class will give you the opportunity to learn how to go about planning for an international or domestic adoption, taking into consideration all the legal, emotional, and logistical complexities of the different paths. Once you hear some information, you may pose your questions in a supportive and private setting by phone. By the end of the class, you'll have a clear sense of your "next steps" if you choose to pursue the life-changing process of adopting a child. What Is a Teleclass? A teleclass is like a conference call. In the privacy of your home or office or wherever you may be, you and other registrants will be on the phone with Sara Lively, M.S.Ed., as you explore the landscape of adopting. You do not need a computer to be in the class. All you need is a regular phone. Upon registration, you'll receive a confirming email with information about the conference dial-in number and access code, along with suggestions to help you hear and participate in the call. An important note about registering: The online registration system requires you to enter your address and phone number. Unless you initiate follow-up contact, you will not be contacted by phone or by snail mail, nor will this personal information be shared with any other party. Instructions about the teleclass will be provided via email communication only. This teleclass is intended to help you explore adoption as an option for building your family. The teleclass will not provide highly technical or legal advice, therapy or counseling, nor will it substitute for the important work of child-placing professionals. If you decide to adopt a child, you should contact a licensed adoption agency or an adoption attorney for assistance with this process. |
